Mr. Griffis passed away early last Friday in Clinch Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a native of this county, a member of Bethel Baptist Church here, and a retired woodsman. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louis McLain and Mrs. May Belle Johnson, both of Homerville; ten grand children, 24 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Officiating at the funeral were Rev. M.C. Nail, Rev. Talmadge Guess, and Rev. John Futch, all of Homerville. Pallbearers were Messrs. Jack Griffis, George Griffis, Elroy Griffis, Johnny Griffis, Marvin Stalvey and W. R. Stalvey. Music Funeral Home was in charge.
