Atkinson County Citizen - September  4, 2014
 Ms. Josephine Virginia Starling, 70, of Homerville passed away Monday, August 
25, 2014, in Louis Smith Memorial Hospital.
 She was born January 14, 1944, to the late James Benjamin and Annie Sue Boone 
Starling. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Frances Lawson, 
Clarasia Roe, Roselle Landry; brothers, Bobby Dale Starling, Lamar Starling and 
Homer Deese.
 Survivors include nieces, Latrelle (Roy) Fender of Homerville, Irma (Keith) 
Stalvey of Homerville, Virginia Odom of Pearson, Lou Roe Singleton of Lakeland, 
Pat Phillips of Lakeland, Pam “Steve) Harris of Gonzoles, LA, Lisa Starling of 
Waycross, Tara Lawson of Virginia, Ann Lawson of Virginia; nephews, Robert Earl 
(Susan) Roe of Hortense, Franklin Starling of Waycross, Raymond Deese of 
Homerville; sister in law, Evelyn Deese of Argyle; several nieces and nephews, 
great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family members.
 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, in the Lakeland 
Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
 Burial followed in Liberty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
 Music Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
