Mrs Dr E M Bailey is visiting friends in Atlanta. Miss Annie Powell of Atlanta, who has been visiting the Misses Watson, has returned home, much to the regret of all who met her. Miss Williford is the guest of J R Humphries. Miss Julia Bate is home again, after a long stay with her brother in Barnesville Ga. W T Bate of Barnesville was in Acwroth last week to see his father and mother, both of whom have been quite ill. Mrs W J Tapp of Powder Springs is visiting her parents here. Mrs J L Tapp of Decatur is visiting her father, Capt J L Lemon. Misses Leone Awtrey and Ida Collins returned to LaGrange Monday to re-enter the Southern Female College. Eugene Ray, who spent the holidays with relatives here, has returned to Hopkinsville, Ky., where he is attending South Kentucky College. James Northcutt has returned to Mercer University, and John R Humphries has returned to Athens. T H Brooke has moved to Atlanta. Mrs John Awtrey of Marietta was in Acworth last week. She took part in the "Spinsters' Convention." The "Spinsters' Fortnightly Club Convention" was repeated last Friday night and was well attended and a large amount was realized. The proceeds go to improving the cemetery here. - I I AUSTELL Mr E H Jewell and family of Gainesville, Ga., visited home folks last week. Miss Sallie Fear of Hampton, Ga., visited her sister, Mrs Randy Maley last week. Mr Charley Perkerson and wife spent Sunday with Mr Robert Perkerson's family. School opened January 2d with a full attendance. Prof J J Greer, the principal, is giving general satisfaction.
