The Marietta Journal October 13, 1898
ACWORTH

DIED - On Wednesday afternoon of last week, Mrs Nancy E GIBSON died of taking
strychnine through mistake.  As soon as she swallowed the poisonous drug, she
was conscious of what she had done and a doctor was summoned, but all that could
be done to save her was in vain, and she expired in about an hour.  The body was
carried to Kennesaw Thursday for burial.

Paul DYER of Chilicothe, Texas, is in the city.  He is a brother of Rev E M
DYER, and is here to enter the Acworth High School.

Master Eli LITCHFIELD has again entered the Technological school.

Mrs A H SMITH of Dalton is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs T E DISMUKES.

Miss Rosa PUTNAM, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs W J McMILLAN, returned
to her home in Canton last week.

The Caliopean Club will meet at the home of Mr and Mrs J F COLLINS on Friday
afternoon.

Mr Ralph KELPIN left Monday for Atlanta to accept a position.

The friends of Clifford McEVER will be glad to know that he is able to be out
again after several days illness.
