He will be at home only a few days and will spend the summer in Jacksonville, Ala., where he has been called by the Baptist church of that place. Mrs B AWTREY is spending the week with her mother in Marietta. Mrs C G DURHAM is visiting Miss Lelia DURHAM of Adairsville. Miss Lelia is very ill, but her many Acworth friends trust she will soon recover. Miss Louise ROGERS has returned to her home in Atlanta. She attended the Smith Lemon Institute during the year. Miss Lena McLAIN has returned home to spend vacation after a year's profitable work in the Institute. Miss Minnie JONES of Fairmount returned home Wednesday, after few days visit to friends in Acworth and Canton. Prof J G CAMP and family are visiting friends and relatives in Monticello, Ga. Miss Leone AWTREY and Mabel JOHNSON are visiting Miss Minnie JONES at Fairmount, Ga. Miss May WEDGEWORTH returned Monday to her home in Alabama. She was a member of the graduating class of the Smith Lemon Institute. Fred REED of Powder Springs returned home Thursday, after spending several days with his brother at this place. Miss Ruby EVATT was up to see homefolk Sunday. She returned to Atlanta Monday. Miss Kate LOGAN has returned to spend her vacation. Her many friends welcome her return. Miss Annie AWTREY is visiting Miss May WEDGEWORTH at Broomtown, Ala. Miss Ethel EVATT has returned from Atlanta, where she has been for sometime. Commencement exercises closed at the Smith Lemon Institute on Wednesday evening. The exercises were a rare treat to the people of Acworth, and reflect much credit to the pupils and teachers. The primary and intermediate exercises took place Friday evening, June 1st, and were well performed and highly enjoyed. On Sunday Dr GAINES, of the Agnes Scott, preached the commencement sermon. It was one of the best sermons the people of Acworth have had the privilege of hearing for many years. The high school exercises were on Monday evening and were splendidly rendered. On Tuesday evening, June 5th, the graduating exercises were rendered. The graduates are Mr Lemon AWTREY, Misses Nettie Bell McMILLAN, Lena NICHOLS, Mary SIMMONS, Rose PUTNAM and May WEDGEWORTH. Prof Jere M POUND of Barnesville delivered the address to the class. It was a spendid effort and greatly edified all who heard it. Mr and Mrs B AWTREY entertained the graduating class and a few friends Wednesday evening at tea. Claude McMILLAN made a flying trip to Atlanta Wednesday. Miss Lena MOZLEY of Marietta is visiting Mrs M M PHILLIPS at this place. Mr and Mrs O AWTREY gave a reception to the graduating class Wednesday evening. It was highly enjoyed by all. J S COLLINS of Cedartown visited Acworth last week. C A COLLINS has accepted a position in Cedartown.
