Miss Pearle FOWLER of Noonday returned home Saturday. She has held a position in Mr AWTREY's millinery store and has made many friends who dislike to see her leave town but hope she will enjoy her vacation. Rev A J JOHNSON went to Jacksonville, Ala., Saturday where he has been called as pastor of the Baptist church. Miss Mamie and Mr Wm WATSON are spending the summer in Acworth. Several teachers from Acworth and vicinity took the examination Saturday. Miss Mabelle JOHNSON and Leone AWTREY returned from a pleasant visit to Colima, Ga. Prof B AWTREY visited Marietta Saturday. Mrs E M DYER, who has been quite sick in Dalton for several days, is improving, much to the delight of her many friends. Miss Nell JOHNSON visited Atlanta Saturday. Miss Bessie CARNES, Annie LEMON and Bessie HILL are visiting friends and relatives in Kennesaw. Rev E M DYER came home Monday from Dalton where he has been visiting for some time. Squire LUNSFORD and family visited Lost Mountain Sunday. Rev G T BROWN preached an able sermon at Acworth Sunday. His subject was the "Desecration of the Sabbath," and it would be well for people generally to heed his earnest remarks. Misses H MAYS and E DAVIS of Lost Mountain were guests of Mr Mark GOODWIN Sunday. Mr Jas P SAIN was called to his father's home in Tennessee Saturday. Mr Eugene McDOWELL of Marietta visited Acworth Saturday and Sunday. Acworth and Cartersville played ball in Acworth Friday. The score was 6 to 0 in favor of Acworth. The same team will play at Cartersville Tuesday. Mr John HUMPHREYS has returned from the University to spend his vacation at home. Mrs B AWTREY returned Saturday from a pleasant visit in Marietta. Miss Mary REYNOLDS is visiting relatives in the country. Mr Jas NORTHCUTT visited Cartersville Saturday. The meeting of the ladies' club, which was to be held on Friday night, was postponed on account of inclemency of the weather.
