From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, June 4 1908:

ACWORTH

Miss Katie May KITCHEN of Canton is visiting relatives in Acworth.

Miss Julia Bate of Asheville, N. C., is the attractive little visitor of Mr and
Mrs W L ABBOTT.

Mr and Mrs A P McLAIN have returned from a delightful month's visit to points in
Texas.

Mr Z L McLAIN was carried to an Atlanta sanitarium Monday.  He is recovering
from his injuries very slowly.

Messrs Penn MITCHELL and H M WILLIAMS attended the meeting of the Grand Lodge of
Odd Fellows at Macon.

Mr Oscar EARWOODS, formerly of Acworth, had the misfortune to have his house and
household goods blown away at Albertville, Ala., during the recent storm.

Mr E D PATTON of Watertown, Tenn., has accepted the call to the pastorate of the
Acworth and Mars Hill Presbyterian churches, and will take charge July 1st.

Mr S D RICKENBAKER has been elected principal of Acworth schools.
