From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, June 11 1908:

ACWORTH

Mrs D F McCLATCHEY has returned to Atlanta after visiting her father, Orlando
AWTREY, here.

Misses Ethel EVATT and Melle JOHNSON visited Rev and Mrs Allison JOHNSON at
Cornelia last week, and also visited Tallulah Falls.

Miss Dona BAILEY of Conyers is visiting Mrs E M BAILEY.

The Misses WINNINGHAM of Tennessee, who have been visiting Mrs J C STOKELY,
returned home last Monday.

Miss Fannie May TIPPEN has returned from a visit to her sister, Mrs GRAY, at
Kennesaw.

Miss Grace DURHAM of Greensboro is visiting Mrs C G DURHAM.

Miss Alvareen CRAIG returned to her home in Chattanooga last Tuesday after a
visit of several months to her aunt, Mrs R M MITCHELL.

Misses Mattie and Hattie MITCHELL entertained the younger set last Thursday
evening in honor of their nieces, Misses Lula MITCHELL and Annie Lee McGEE,
recently home from college - Wesleyan, Macon, Ga., and Washington Christian
College, Washington, D. C., respectively.  Games were played and refreshments
served.  Miss Genie Small MITCHELL presided at the punch bowl.  Those present
were Misses Annie Lee McGEE, Lula, Ray, Genie and Dorothy MITCHELL, Alvareen
CRAIG of Chattanooga, Tenn., Louise AWTREY, Pauline COLLINS, Pearl McLAIN, Alma
PHILLIPS, Bessie RAINEY, Edna BARRETT and Effie LUNSFORD; Messrs Clancy McGEE,
Orlando AWTREY Jr., Neil AVERY, Linton and Edwin LEMON, Howard HILLERY, Jim
RAINEY, Norman and Roy COLLINS, Roy TIPPIN, Elzy, Thomas and Henry GROGAN, Leon
WINN and Alvin LOVINGOOD.
