Mr J P SAIN is visiting relatives at Winchester and Petersburg, Tenn. Several of our young people attended the union singing at County Line last Sunday. Dr J H STROUD and family of Chattanooga, Tenn., are visiting relatives near here. Miss Jennie PLEDGER and children of Snapping Shoals are vising the family of Pen MITCHELL. Miss Clara MILLER of Doraville, Ga., is visiting friends in Acworth. We regret to learn of the illness of Mrs Mollie MAGILL. We hope she will soon be restored to health. Mr W P McDOWELL, our clever hotel proprietor, attended a Prohibition meeting at Barnesville last week. He reports a large delegation and a good meeting. Mrs Bernard AWTREY of the Capital Female College of Atlanta and her mother, Mrs KING, visited relatives in Acworth this week. The protracted services at the Presbyterian church closed last Sunday. There were eight additions to that church. The sermons by Rev E D McDOUGAL of Cartersville were very interesting and gave evidence that he is an excellent preacher. Rev H F McLANE, the evangelist of the Christian Church, is here conducting a revival. We hope much good will be done. This is the fourth week of the revival - two weeks at the M E Church, one week at the Presbyterian church, and it is thought that Rev McLANE will conduct the services until the last of next week. Much good has already been done. Mr G P NORTHCUTT and Miss Leila SAWYER were quietly united in marriage at the home of the bride's father at Cedartown last Sunday evening at seven o'clock, Rev O P COOPER officiating. Mr NORTHCUTT is the son of our worthy and esteemed citizen, A M NORTHCUTT, and Miss SAWYER is one of the most highly accomplished young ladies of Cedartown. The bride and groom arrived here Monday afternoon at five o'clock and repaired to the home of Mr J N JOHNSON, where a few friends and relatives were gathered to receive them. We wish for the couple a long life of prosperity and happiness. -A J File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/acworthc380nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 2.6 Kb
