The Marietta Journal August 23, 1900
ACWORTH

DIED - Mr Jeff BROOKS at his home here of typhoid fever on the 17th inst.,
interment at Bascom cemetery.  The bereaved have our sympathy.

Mrs Wayne FARRIS and children are visiting Mrs SMITHSON.

Mrs J R LEMON of Anniston, Ala., is visiting relatives in Acworth.

Mr Emmett LOGAN and wife have returned home after a visit here to relatives.

Acworth had a little mad-dog scare last week.

Mr and Mrs F N COWAN are visiting her sister, Mrs Henry STEEL, of Cherokee.

Mrs C C SORRELLS and Mrs John McKEVER left for Horse Creek, Ala., last week.

Will BRANON and wife left for Indian Territory last week.

George RANSOM and family left for Texas last week.

Dr E B THOMAS and Mr Rowland THOMAS of Atlanta are the guest of their aunt, Mrs
Nellie REYNOLDS.

Miss Mattie KILBY of Canton is visiting Miss Clara WILLIAMS.

Miss Julia MAYO of Americus is at Dr BAILEY's.

Miss Clara BIDDLE of Cherokee visited Miss Golden NORTHCUTT last week.

Miss Nolla BARRETT's school at Kelpin was out last Friday.  She goes to Austell
next week, where she will be assistant in the school there.

Capt MITCHELL and his brother, P C MITCHELL of Texas, spent a few days visiting
relatives in Atlanta Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Miss Kate LOGAN has returned from Virginia and North Carolina.
