Not often in a lifetime do we see two coffins in the church altar at the same time, but such was the case here Monday at 10 o'clock. No eulogy pronounced by preachers or people could tell the worth, the benevolence and loving Christian characters of these good women. The town is bereaved with the families. Our new mayor and council assumed their office Friday night and will doubtless look well after the affairs of the town. We have put on Atlanta airs by electing Jumbo marshall for the year. New glass fronts are still being put in stores in Acworth and a general prosperity seems eminent. May 1900 see Cobb, not only prosperous, but a better people than ever before. No society news. - X X KENNESAW On last Tuesday evening, the 16th, the spirit of Mr Willie Steele winged its flight to the God who gave it. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by Rev A J Morgan on Wednesday evening; interment in the cemetery. He was 22-years-old, moral, upright, honest and beloved by all who knew him. He leaves many friends who deeply sympathise with the bereaved relatives. Rev W A Simmons filled his appointment at the Methodist church Saturday and Sunday. Mr and Mrs Jack Williams of Rome is visiting relatives here.
