As the groom is waiting to be called to the army he could not go to Boston to claim his bride, so she came to Georgia and the wedding took place at the home of the groom's parents, only the immediate family being present. The Rev E D PATTON officiated. Mrs D E SAWYER, Miss McGHEE and Miss COMFORT came up Monday afternoon in Mrs SAWYER's car and Miss McGHEE gave a cheese making demonstration at the club house. Mrs TOMLIN, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs A J DURHAM, left Friday for her home in Statesville, N C. Miss Frances HICKS who is in training at the Davis-Fischer Sanitarium, has returned to Atlanta after spending two weeks at home. Mrs Ida OSMENT of Cartersville has been visiting her nieces, the Misses HICKS. The Rev and Mrs M R GADDIS and "Billy" have returned from a year at Ft Worth, Texas. After spending a few days with friends in Acworth, Mr GADDIS has gone to his new work in LaGrange. Mrs GADDIS and Billy will remain several days longer. Lieut. Richard TRIPPE's many friends are welcoming him home for a furlough of six days from Camp McArthur, Waco, Texas. Mr and Mrs E D DAVIS and children motored over from Taylorsville to spend Sunday with Mrs DAVIS' mother, Mrs Mary TRIPPE. Mrs John R HUMPHRIES is visiting her mother, Mrs VAUGHN, in Monroe, La. Mr Stokely NORTHCUTT will not return to Washington but will spend the summer in Acworth, probably entering Oglethorpe in September. Miss Sarah CARNES and Miss Vivian KITCHEN are home from ---------. Miss CARNES graduated and will be one of the faculty of the Acworth School for the coming year. Mrs W W LINTON of Woodberry as been secured as superintendent, and the prospects for the coming year are bright.
