Cobb County Times June 20, 1918
BENSON

Miss Mary Lou TATE of Atlanta visited home folks, Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Robert STEWART of Atlanta and Mr and Mrs George Ray YORK of McAfee
were the guests of Mr and Mrs W G YORK Sunday.

Messrs Jesse ELLIOTT, Marion and David COOK, of Little River, visited Mr C M COX
Sunday.

Our literary club rendered a nice program Saturday night, judging by the way
everybody seemed to enjoy it.

The president, Miss Mae CUNNINGHAM, asked that the club suspend work through
July and August on account of the revival services at the different churches
near by.  There will be no more club meetings until September.

Mr and Mrs Emmett HARDAGE and Mr N McCLAIN of Marietta were guests of Mr Pickens
TATE Sunday.

The people of Benson met Sunday and organized a Sunday School, electing the
following officers.  Superintendent, Mr A B CUNNINGHAM; Assistant
Superintendent, Mr J W McNEELY; Miss Ruby McNEELY, Secretary; Mrs D A DURHAM was
elected teacher of Mother's class, and Mrs E F BOOTH, of Bible class; Mrs A B
CUNNINGHAM and Mr W F CHANCE are to be teachers of classes Three and Four;
Misses Beulah CHANCE and Mae CUNNINGHAM to alternate as organists; Messrs R A
CUNNINGHAM and W F CHANCE to alternate as chorister.  The Sunday School meets
promptly at 4 pm.
