The Marietta Journal March 5, 1896
SANDY PLAINS

Mr W H Dunn and Mrs Laura Groover were married February 26.

The young men are having splendid debates in their society at Oakland.  They
have a court trial for the next Saturday night.

Owing to sickness the people of this place were disappointed on their regular
meeting days.

The farmers of this section are very busy preparing for the coming crops.

Mr Lee McClesky, who has been sick for several days, is some better.

Mrs M S Chandler is visiting Mr Jackson Edwards and family this week.
