Rev Arnold LINDSEY of Marietta will be with us in a series of meetings. Mrs Mary PHARR and son, Edward, of DeKalb county, Alabama, after spending several weeks with her daughter, Mrs DARBY, has returned home. Mr D C CARNES has sold part of his farm to Mr John DARBY, and bought the farm of Mr Calloway MEADOWS. Mr Iverson BORN and family of Rockdale, after a pleasant visit to his brother, Mr J A L BORN, has returned home. I visited the camp of soldiers at Lithia last week. The rough and tumble made me think of old times. While there met my old friend, J L CLAY, of Paulding. He had sold Uncle Sam 2,000 pounds of onions. Also our friend, Wash JAMES, who has the contract of supplying them with wood and the famous Bowden water. While at Lithia, we had a conversation with Mr Eli MEDLOCK on the life of the fruit trees. He stated that there is now living a peach tree, in Jackson county, in his grandfather's orchard that is 55 years old, still bearing healthy fruit. He says he ate fruit off of it when 4 years old and his is now 59. In regard to the fruit tree, he got there Eli. Mr Walter McDALE, and sister, Eva, of Atlanta, are visiting at the residence of A H TALLEY. Miss Lena KEMP of Marietta is visiting the Misses TALLEY. W E TALLEY left for Savannah and Tybee last Saturday, where he will spend a few days, when he will return to Millen and open his school, September 1st.
