Marietta Journal May 14, 1908
From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, May 14 1908:

DUE WEST

Mrs Allen KEMP died of heart failure on last Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at
their home on Mr T J HELTON's place.

Mrs Mary BORN spent last week with her sister, Mrs HELTON, returning home near
Elizabeth on last Sunday very much improved in health.

Mrs Ellis GREEN and son, Billie, visited her daughter, Mrs DRAKE, in Carroll
county last week.

Mr George GRIGGS and family spent last Saturday and Sunday with relatives near
Dallas.

Mr Will WARREN spent Saturday with his daughter, Mrs Charley BUFORD, near
Roxana, who has been confined to her bed for several weeks.

Mrs W S WILLIAMS has been quite sick for the past week.

The children will have their annual all-day services on the 4th Sunday in this
month at Mount Olivet.  Miss Maud SORRELLS will deliver the welcome address. 
The Sunday School from New Salem will be with them.  Come and let us spend a
pleasant and profitable day together.

Mr B W GRIGGS was called to the bedside of his sick mother on last Friday near
Hiram.  She is in her 97th year and has been quite feeble for some time.
