From the Marietta Journal & Courier dated Friday, November 9 1917:

HIGHLANDS

Mr M OLIVER and daughter, Miss Fanny Mae, of Monroe, Ga., were the guests of Mr
W A FRASURE last week.

Miss Ora BEARDEN gave a singing to her friends Sunday night.  All enjoyed
singing very much.

Mr Cliffton BURTON and his two little boys of Atlanta spent Sunday here with his
father, Mr C C BURTON.

Mr and Mrs Lucius HARDAGE and children of Kirks Chapel spent Sunday with Mr F R
KIRK and family.

Mrs G R LEWIS, Mrs C C HUDSON and two children returned to their home in Atlanta
after a weeks visit with Mr and Mrs W P HARDAGE.

Mr John DAVIS and Mr Fidell DAVIS of Lost Mountain spent Sunday with Mr J B
BEARDEN.

Mr F R KIRK bought the farm of one hundred and sixty acres south of his home on
Burnt Hickory road from J N HARDAGE of Largo, Fla.
