F. HULL has resigned his position with the L and N R Company as agent for them at this point and at Elizabeth, and has bought out Mr C P STEPHENS, and will on November 20, start up a first class meat market, keeping on hand all kinds of fresh and cured meats. Ed has been in the railroad business for eleven years and during this time has lost only eleven days. He is leaving the railroad business on his own accord, and is declining several flattering offers in order to make his home in Marietta. He is rated as one of the shrewdest and most competent railroad men of this section, and as a telegraph operator enjoys the distinction of being one among the few telegraph operators who can send a message with either his left or right hand, and at the same time write it on a type writer with his opposite hand. He also can sit down at an instrument, and upon another instrument transmit what is going over the opposite instrument following the repeating instrument without writing the passing message down, simply listening to one instrument and sending on another, a very difficult proposition even with old experienced telegraphers. Mr HULL is also an experienced violinist and plays regularly at the first Baptist church. We trust he may meet with a success that will authorize his remaining with us permanently.
