Miss Mary BENNETT of Atlanta has been selected by the Trustees as teacher of the school at this place for ensuing year. Mrs Mollie REECE went to Atlanta last week to see her mother, Mrs LATHER (*) who has fever. Mr W O ROBERTS has had the Cotten Seed Oil Co. to put in a pair of scales here, which will add to our town, as Mr ROBERTS intends buying cotton. J S MORGAN has moved this gin machinery from the Pyron stand to this place. The remains of Mrs Nancy E GIBSON of Acworth was brought here Friday. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church at 3 o'clock by the Rev A J MORGAN. The interment was in the cemetery here. Mrs GIBSON had lived here for a number of years but had been living with her son, Tom, at Acworth some four years. The cause of her death was, she had headache and took a dose of strychnine through mistake for headache powders. She was 67 years old, and leaves four sons and three daughters, and other relatives, who have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement. Rev J S REYNOLDS preached at the Methodist Church Sunday night. Mrs G T CARRIE has returned from her visit to Atlanta.
