Marietta Journal May 14, 1908
From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, May 14 1908:

KENNESAW

DIED - Mrs Mattie GIBSON on Thursday morning, May 7th, after several months
illness.  The funeral was conducted Friday at the Baptist church, of which she
was a devoted member, by Revs A J MORGAN and J J CROW, her former pastors. 
Interment in cemetery here.  She is survived by her four children, Messrs Will
and Charlie GIBSON, Mrs E H HULL and Mrs E T BOOTH.  The deceased was a
consistent Christian, and a true friend and neighbor.  We join with the entire
community sympathise with the bereaved relatives.

Miss Gertrude WARE of New Salem and Miss Irma HARDAGE of Rockmart visited Mr and
Mrs T J HARDAGE last week.

Mrs E F HULL of Savannah and Mr Will GIBSON of Brookside, Ala., are here.

Mr J B HODGEN has closed out his store on account of declining health.

The next term of school will commence first Monday in July in order to
accommodate the farmers' children.

Born to Mr and Mrs E H GIBSON last week a girl, the fourth.

Dr VANSANT went to Alabama Sunday to visit his brother who is seriously ill.

Mrs Ann RALEY of Marietta spent a few days here with friends last week.

Mr Lester PYRON and Mr NICHOLS of Acworth spent Sunday afternoon with Mr S J PYRON.
