A search was instituted and early Sunday morning he was found unconscious in one of the dressing rooms at the Baptist church pool. He was brought to the home of his son where he lingered until Tuesday afternoon, when he died. The funeral was held Wednesday. We extend to the bereaved family the sympathy of the entire community. Miss Dessie GOODWIN, daughter of Mr Henry GOODWIN, and Mr ABERCROMBIE were married at Pynes in Cherokee county recently. Miss GOODWIN formerly lived here and her many friends extend congratulations and best wishes. Miss Irene HILL lost her watch during the protracted meeting at the Methodist church. It has "Irene" engraved in the back. Will the person finding it please return it to Miss Irene? Mrs MAYES of Marietta has taken charge of the Bennett hotel. The home-coming of former members of the Baptist church was a very pleasant social gathering. Many visitors were present. Good talks were made by Rev J M SPINKS and Mr W A BABB of Atlanta, Rev William McCOLLUM and others. The Baptist church here was organized thirty-three years ago with thirteen members, four of whom were at the home-coming - Mrs Sarah WHITFIELD, Mrs Sarah GIBSON, Mrs H A BUTLER and Mrs James ADAMS. Now there are 176 members with a large and pretty church building, fourteen acres of land and a good pastor in the person of Rev Mr SPINKS. "Amor" was over Saturday and Sunday from Due West, visiting his son, Mr B W GRIGGS and family. Mrs Lizzie BORING has returned home from a visit to her son, Mr Frank BORING, near Marietta. Burglars broke the glass front window of Mr J G LEWIS' store last Tuesday, gaining an entrance. Born to Mr and Mrs E SCROGGS a fine son. Mr Will CROWDER has fever at the home of his father in Alabama. Rev Gus BOND is conducting a very successful revival at Mt Olive. Mrs Mollie REECE has an enrollment of eighty school children at her school near Lena. She is assisted by Mrs ATTAWAY.
