Mr Lem WHITFIELD and Mr Max WHITFIELD of Atlanta were here Monday. Mr Charlie DURHAM went Sunday was a week ago to Taylersville to be present at the funeral and interment of his uncle, Mr John DOBBS. Mr Joe CARRIE of Rome was here Monday to attend the interment of his cousin, Mrs Will SMITHSON. Mr and Mrs Thad McCLESKEY of Marshill spent Monday here with Mr and Mrs J W McCLESKEY. Mr and Mrs Jim EIDSON of Cartersville are visiting relatives here. Prof W E MITCHELL and his assistants, the Misses Bessie ALLEN, Annie WORLEY and Helen CURRY, closed the fall term of school Wednesday evening with an Xmas tree which the children enjoyed very much. Mr J W McCLESKEY made up a collection and presented Miss Lucy GATLIN Xmas morning with ten dollars for her faithful and efficient services as organist at the Baptist Church. Mr Herchel LENARD of Bartow County is spending the week with his parents, Mr and Mrs LENARD. Col J G GILES of Marietta came up Monday to visit his parents, Mr and Mrs W P GILES. Messers Bryan BRO?K, Ernest GATLIN and Paul BURT, who have positions in Atlanta, spent Xmas with some folks here. Mr and Mrs Walter McKEA of Atlanta and Mr Clarence McKEA of Wadley are visiting Miss Ada McKEA. Mrs C F MILLER and children spent Xmas days with Mr A THOMPSON. Miss Mattie BONDS of Shilo spent Xmas with Miss Nettie BOND. Mrs Will SMITHSON died at her home in Atlanta Saturday night the funeral services were held in Atlanta Sunday and the remains were brought here Monday and interred in the cemetery. Mrs Smithson before her marriage was Miss Nobie GRILIVER, daughter of Mrs Martha GRILIVER, and was reared here moving to Atlanta several years after her marriage. As Nobie GRILIVER she was highly esteemed as a happy hearted girl in her teens as she matured in years she was the patient devoted wife and mother. Her health failed a few years ago and she has been a great suffer and death was only a release from earthly suffering and her sweet life ends here for Mother and daughter are reunited in heaven. She is survived by her husband Mr Will SMITHSON, one son, Mr Harry SMITHSON, her daughter, Mrs Mamie ROBBERSON died eight year ago leaving a little son who is with his father at the Panama Canal, and her mother. We extend to breaved family the sympathy of their friends. Miss Georgia SCROOGS of Acworth is visiting Mr A F SCROOGS and family. Mr Bud SMITHSON and Mrs Lizzie SMITHSON FAIREST of Atlanta attended the burial of Mrs Will SMITHSON here Monday. Mr John WILLIAMS died at his home in Acworth Sunday evening and was buried Monday he was a brother of Mrs Ben STANLEY and a half brother of Mrs P L CONNER who attended the funeral. Mr WILLIAMS had owned and lived at the Old Chastain Stancell farm on the Acworth road but had recently sold it to W P WARD. Mr WILLIAMS had lived a good wonderful life accumulating considerable property, but was ever ready to help his fellow man. He was twice married his wife, who was Mrs Kansas LITCHFIELD, survives him. We deeply sympathize with the breaved family. Mr Walter McLAIN has moved back to Acworth.
