The remains were brought here Monday and the funeral was conducted by his Pastor Rev M A McCOY after which the body was interred by that of his wife. Mr RALEY had lived here years ago and is well remembered by the older residents. His children who came to the funeral were Mr George RALEY of Birmingham, and Mr Nyles of Alabama, Mrs Maggie RALEY DOBBS with her husband and children of Cedartown, Miss Willie RALEY and Mr and Mrs Ardell KEMP. His youngest son, Mr Walter RALEY, who is in the army was not here. Mr RALEY death was very sudden. He had picked cotton on last Thursday and was taken sick Friday morning and died Friday night. Mr Annis FOWLER of Camp Wheeler spent last week with his parents, Mr and Mrs Tom FOWLER and this week they have their son, Mr Otto FOWLER of Camp Wheeler with them. And here's hoping these FOWLER twin boys will never seen the battlefields of France. Mr and Mrs John H BROWN have had their son Mr Arthur BROWN who is in the navy with them for a week. Mr Otis LENARD of Camp Wheeler spent Sunday with his parents Mr and Mrs Charlie LENARD. Mr Harry L BOZEMAN, son of Mr and Mrs Bluett BOZEMAN, has measles at Camp Wheeler. Mr and Mrs J F BRINKLEY had as their guests Sunday Mr and Mrs H M COVINGTON of Marietta and Mr and Mr and Mrs Phillip BRINKLEY and Mr and Mrs Alex BRINKLEY of Chalker School House. Mrs E G HILL, Miss Lois HILL and master Charlie HILL attended Billy Sunday meeting in Atlanta Sunday. I wish to make some corrections, it was J W McCLESKEY and not EIDSON who sold his house and lot to Mr Walter McREA and Mr A THOMAS has not moved in Mr John BALDWIN's house and I am going to quit writing anything that I don't see with my own eyes, or hear with my own ears. But heres something I saw today. Mr Alonzo CARTER is top soiling and getting the Dixie Highway in fine shape before the winter rains set in. Here's hoping there will be no more automobiles or vehicles stuck in the mud on the Highway this winter. Mr Roy and Lewis SCROGGINGS are in Atlanta where they have positions. Rev E T BOOTH will preach at the Baptist church Saturday and Sunday, these being regular preaching days. Miss Mae SCROGGS and Mrs M B ADAMS and little son Harold were recent visitors to relatives in Bartow County. Miss Jewel HILDERBRAND who has been visiting Mr and Mrs Burt HILDERBRAND in Atlanta returned home Monday night. Mr B H CARRIE recently visited his daughter, Mrs Jerome COX in Braswell. Mr Nath BROOKE of Rockmart has been visiting his grandsons Messrs William and Lee McCLESKEY. Mr and Mrs William McCURLEY and son Olin and Baby McCURLEY, with grandfather Brooke, visited Mr and Mrs Roland McCURLEY in Cherokee county recently. Mrs John ROBBERT and children have returned from Deacherd, Tenn., where Mrs ROBBERT had been visiting her father. Mrs S J PYRON attended the funeral of her sister Mrs Roda Ann TURNER of Lithia Springs at Maloney Springs Sunday. Mrs Walter McREA has been visiting her mother Mrs MARTIN in Roswell.
