The Marietta Journal June 30, 1904
KENNESAW MOUNTAIN

Mr P M BORN and daughter, Carrie, and Mr Fletcher MAYFIELD and wife of Atlanta
attended the funeral of little Sara Francis MADDOX at New Salem last Tuesday. 
Rev McCOLLUM conducted the funeral.

CARD OF THANKS - We sincerely thank our neighbors for their kindness shown us in
the sickness and death of our little babe.  Mr and Mrs Fred MADDOX

Judge BORN and wife and Mrs ATKINS and son drove to Mt Olivet last Sunday
morning to preaching and heard a fine sermon by Rev David TURNER of Floyd county.

Crops doing well considering the season.

D W DICKSON and John CROWDER have returned from Floyd county and report 75 per
cent of crops cotton - no corn or watermelons.
