Mrs ROBERTS and her nephew, Mr Frank BURT Jr, lived here but had been staying with Mrs BURT since her son, Mr James GRAY, has been in the army. The funeral was -------- SPINKS, Saturday afternoon and the remains were interred in the cemetery here. Mrs ROBERTS was the second wife of the lat Mr George ROBERTS of Woodstock. She leaves no children, but from childhood she has had with her her devoted nephew, Mr Frank BURT Jr, who has done everything that a son could have done. Many beautiful flowers were placed on the grave attesting the high esteem in which this good woman was held by her relatives and friends. At rest, no more pain and suffering and the afflictions of old age, affect aunt Joe now. The surviving relatives have the sympathy of the community. Mr E D FITZGERALD died at his home near Mount Olive Xmas day. The funeral and interment was at Mars Hill Thursday. Mr FITZGERALD had been confined to his home for nearly a year, and his death was not unexpected. He is survived by a wife and a large family of children who have the sympathy of their many friends. Mr Otis LEONARD of Camp Wheeler and Miss Edna GRIGGS of Atlanta spent Sunday week with Mrs Sam THOMSON. Mr Harry BOZEMAN of Camp Wheeler spent Sunday with his parents, Mr and Mrs H B BOZEMAN. Mrs Price MILES spent Tuesday in Marietta with Mrs James CROWDER. The many friends here regret to hear of Mrs H P BENNETT of Atlanta falling and breaking her arm. Mr T O BROWN, who was sick last week, is much better, his many friends will be glad to know. Mr HEFNER, who lives hear Mount Olive, was seriously hurt December 24th by a tree falling on him. We hope for him a safe recovery. Miss Ollie Mae MORGAN of Atlanta spent the past week with her parents, Mr and Mrs C P MORGAN. Miss Winnie CARRIE, who has a position in Atlanta, spent her vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs E G CARRIE. Mr Bud WILSON of Dalton has been visiting his daughter, Mrs Charlie DURHAM. Miss Mamie McRAE spent Saturday with Mrs STALLING at Bolton. Mr E G HILL's store was robbed one night last week, the entrance being gained by the burglars breaking out the plate glass windows. Some cigars, flash lights, and neck ties were taken. Mr C J PARKER of Fort Oglethorpe was a recent visitor to Mr Bud HUDGIN and family. Mr and Mrs A L HILDERBRAND and daughter, Misses Edna and Gladis, of Atlanta, have been visiting Mr L N DOBBS and family and Mrs J R HILDERBRAND. Mr Eugene McCOLLUM came up Xmas to visit his parents, Mr and Mrs Chalmers McCOLLUM. The night before he left Camp Wheeler some one deftly slipped his money from under his head while Gene slept on. From accounts there must be some thief in Uncle Sam's army. The 122nd infantry at Camp Wheeler is out for ten days rifle practice this week. Messrs Otto and Annis FOWLER and Edward P SKELTON are in this company. Prof E T BOOTH and his assistants, the Misses CURRY and TIMMONS reopen school Monday. Mr John ELLISON and family have moved to Montezuma. Mr BEACH and family of Dalton have moved to the Robert MOON farm which he purchased last spring. Mr WEST and family have moved near Powder Springs. Mr J E CAGLE and family will move Wednesday near Powder Springs. Mr Polla ARRINGTON, who sold his farm last summer to Mr Andrew McCLURE, has moved near Hiram. Mrs Gus ROBERSON and children of Bessemer, Ala., have been visiting her sister, Mrs J H OWEN. Mr Joe CARRIE who is with the J G LEWIS Motor Car Company in Atlanta spent New Years at home. Mrs Charlie DURHAM and Master Charlie Jr and Mary Lou have been visiting in Dalton.
