Judge A L BARTLETT of Dallas and the Paulding county surveyor were here Saturday surveying the Judge's land. When the people see good roads and begin to ride over them they then will know how to appreciate them. This alone will convince the people of the fact of the importance of good roads. Charlie MANNING is doing some very careful and satisfactory work on the Marietta and Dallas road, and at the completion of this job we propose to celebrate the occasion by a watermelon cutting, and we suggest Jim HARDAGE as chairman of the watermelon committee to see that each fellow plants a big patch and have plenty on hand. There is but little change in Mrs Sylvania KEMP's condition. Her friends hope she will yet be restored to health. DIED - On the 18th inst., Mrs Nancy DURHAM, 94 years of age, and relict of Nathan DURHAM of Mars Hill. She had for a number of years made her home with her daughter, Mrs W H JACKSON, where she died. She was laid to rest at Mars Hill graveyard last Friday. She has six children and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren to mourn her death. Peace to her ashes.
