For many years he was a resident of our community and was well known and beloved by our people. He was generous and always ready to do his part. He was a very kind hearted man. He was a member of the Midway Presbyterian church. He had many friends here who regretted to learn of his death. A large number of friends were present to pay their last respects to their deceased friend. Dr J H PATTON conducted the service. The friends here fell a profound sympathy for the wife and children. Mrs TURLEY, mother of Mr Odie TURLEY, died here very suddenly at the residence of her son Monday morning the 7th inst. Her remains were carried to Shiloh in this county for burial. Mr TURLEY has the sympathy of his friends in his bereavement. Mr N E WILLIAMS has been summoned on the U S jury in Atlanta and S F MAYS, alternate, will represent Midway church at Presbytery at Cartersville this week. Sheriff SMITH of Bartow county attended the funeral of Sheriff LINDLEY last Thursday. A cool wave struck us the first of the week, which was a very fine time for the farmers to work but not so good on little plants. The Literary Club gave a public entertainment at the academy Saturday night.
