Stop and count your blessings, they are many. Show the Lord your gratitude by coming out and taking part in this service. We want to see the house filled. Do you appreciate this fine weather? You ought to. It has given such a fine opportunity to finish the fall work. Perhaps the cotton has never been so tedious to gather on account of the cracked bolls. Much of it is in the field yet. The ladies of Midway church will not send the box to the orphanage until after Thanksgiving. If you want to contribute anything to eat or wear bring it with you to the Thanksgiving service. Charlie WRIGHT in partnership with Walter LINDLEY of Americus, has bought a 400 acre farm near Americus. Charlie expects to sell his farm here and move to his new place. All those from here who visited South Georgia recently tell some very glowing tales about how easy they are making money down there. But wait and see - you'll never find all the possum's up one tree. Walter DOBBINS and family spent Sunday at Cartersville. Cobb County can boast of something every county hasn't got - the boll weevil. The cotton crop will fall much below what was expected. The freeze cut off the crop. Those who have gone to hear Billy Sunday like his sermons and advise others to go and hear him. A gloom was cast over our community at the sudden death of Mrs Newt. SCOTT, nee Miss Monnie Lee THACKSTON. She died Monday evening leaving an infant boy a few hours old. She was the oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J R THACKSTON. She was married to Mr Newt. SCOTT Nov 1st, 1916, and he survives her. She was a member of Lost Mountain Baptist Church. A devoted wife just entering the threshold of married life with its duties and responsibilities, no doubt with many bright prospects before this couple for a bright and happy home. Suddenly one is taken, the wife called into eternity bringing sadness and disappointment to the husband, and this reminding each of us we are sojourners and this is not our abiding place. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday morning at Midway at 11 o'clock where she will be laid to rest. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones. - Allen File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/lostmoun289nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 3.4 Kb
