Mr J N Kemp of Marietta Camp Ground was in the community Sunday. Col W R Power will address the citizens here next Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Academy on local taxation for schools. The friends of Hilyer Kemp and family will regret to learn of their recent loss by fire. The family was away at church, his house and store with their entire contents were burned, leaving the family only the clothes they had on. Origin unknown. Mr Kemp lives at Embry, Paulding County. Mrs McRae, Mrs Pittman and Misses Edna and Jennie Murphy of Atlanta spent last week with Mr J C Pickens' family. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family and relatives of Lester Osborne. He lived a christian (life) and was one of the best young men we ever knew. Mr Oscar Kennett and sisters, Misses Alma and Sallie of Canton, and Miss Zena McClure of Gordon are visiting Misses Maud and Beatrice Pickens. Mrs Dr Greer of Marietta is spending several days here. Mr W A McDonald has been elected delegate from Midway church to Cherokee Presbytery, which meets at Dalton Sept 14. H H Green and Theodore Wardlaw have returned from the World's Fair. WILEYS Mrs Sudie Landen of Atlanta, who has been spending some time with relatives and friends in our community, returned home Saturday. Mr Robert Wylie is having his house finished with a nice coat of paint. Mr J Lauden, a first-class painter of Atlanta, is doing the work. Mr C G Rogers was very lucky last week in the snake like. He says that he killed 28 snakes and in the time of it destroyed five yellow jackets nests, and he also says that it was a very good week for snakes and jackets either. - Beulah File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/lostmoun867gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
