The Marietta Journal August 27, 1896
MABLETON

Mrs PHYRE and estimable young daughter, Miss Maud, of Nashville, Tenn., after a
very pleasant visit to Mrs HARPER have returned home.

Miss Maggie LOWE, one of our most charming young ladies, has returned home,
after a visit to Atlanta.

In the absence of our regular pastor, Rev PHILLIPS, of the Baptist church, Rev
EDGE, of Austell, and Rev LATIMER of Atlanta filled the pulpit on Saturday and
Sunday, respectively, preaching four able, interesting and instructive sermons,
long to be remembered by the unusually large congregations.  Also Prof J M YORK
was with us both in the forenoon and afternoon of Sunday and did some excellent
singing.

MARRIED - A few days since Mr Albert GARNER and Miss Minnie LANDERS were united
in the bonds of matrimony at the home of the bride's parents, Rev WILLIAMS, of
Austell, officiating  Our best wishes to the young couple.

Mr HORTON, who has been seriously ill with typhoid fever, we are glad to note,
is on the road to recovery.
