Marietta Journal June 11, 1908
From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, June 11 1908:

MACLAND

Our community was shocked last Wednesday morning when we heard that Henry
MEINERT Jr had died suddenly at the Agricultural College.  He was 16 years of
age.  He entered the school at the opening and had by his courteous manners won
the esteem of both teachers and pupils and every one who knew him liked him. 
His death was supposed to have been heart failure.  His body was carried to
Marietta Wednesday and buried at the Episcopal cemetery on Friday.  The
teachers, their families and the pupils of the college attended the funeral in a
body.  We deeply deplore his untimely death and extend sincere sympathy to the
family in this sad bereavement.

Mrs Hattie BABB and family visited her daughter, Mrs PITTMAN, at Riverside Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Rason DOBBS left last Friday for North Carolina where they go to
visit their sons, Reed and Marion DOBBS.

Mr and Mrs Glenn HEWETT are expected to return from their bridal tour the last
of this week.

Jewell, the little son of Mr and Mrs J S FERGUSON, is quite sick.
