From the Cobb County Times dated Thursday, July 5 1917:

MACLAND

Miss Nannie GRIGGS is spending this week with friends in Burnt Hickory Ridge,
Paulding County.

We are sorry to learn of the illness of Mrs Rason DOBBS.  Mrs Rachel RICE has
been quite sick.  We hope these estimable ladies will soon recover.

Mr W D STORY and family spent Sunday with Mr STORY's parents near Dallas.

Misses Julia WILLOUGHBY and Victoria GRIGGS spent last Wednesday with the Rev
and Mrs T R MORGAN at Smyrna.

Mrs J W LANG spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives at Acworth.

Mr Wade WILLIAMS of Atlanta visited home folks recently.
