The Marietta Journal August 11, 1904
MACLAND

Rev Walter H Meacham will begin a series of meetings at the church here next
Friday night.  We hope to have large attendance and that much and lasting good
may be the result of the meetings.

Mr Robert McEachern and daughter, Miss Bobbie, of Rome, spent several days here
last week visiting his sister, Mrs Hattie Babb, and other relatives and friends.

Prof W H Mincey has a good school.

Miss Bettie Brown of Douglas county accompanied by Mr Standrich visited her
grandmother, Mrs Fannie Brown, of this place one day last week.

Mr Rason Dobbs has inclosed his lot in the cemetery here with a handsome wall of
brick and marble.  He bought the marble from Butler Bros. Marble Co., at Marietta.

Mrs Alice Branch of Waco, Texas, who has been visiting the family of Mr J M
Lindley, has gone to Hiram to visit her sister, Mrs Joe Hunt.

Miss Avarilla Dobbs of Woodstock is visiting her brother, Mr R Dobbs.

Mrs Whitten and daughter of Birmingham, Ala., are visiting her sister, Mrs P N
Gazaway.
