Mr J D CUNNINGHAM now has 100 acres in peach orchard, and is arranging to increase this little orchard next year by a considerable number of acres. Mr SOUTHERLAND and family from the State of Washington started for home on Monday, after spending the winter with us for health. Miss Mamie DRAUGHN, who has been attending the Girl's Industrial School at Milledgeville, has returned to her home in this city. Miss Katie STARNS, a beautiful young lady of Atlanta, is in the city visiting her friend, Miss Georgia SANGES. The friends of Bertie TRAVIS will be rejoiced to know that he is recovering from what was feared to be a fatal injury. Last Thursday he was found in the barn at the home of his grandparents, the LACY's, in an insensible condition. Dr TENNENT was called and his parents in Atlanta telephoned to come immediately. Though no wound or bruise could be found the doctor pronounced the case to arise from a concussion of the brain. He has no recollection of anything that happened after taking the horse into the barn but is supposed to have fallen from the loft where he usually went for forage. A C PINCKNEY, of South Carolina, came to Marietta last September, and took charge of the Congregational Church. He graduated at the Howard University, Washington, D. C., and subsequently graduated in the Theological Seminary, at Andover, Mass. On last Friday he stood a creditable examination before the council, and was ordained minister and called to this church. He is 27 years old and has displayed great consecration. The services of ordination were very interesting. There were present Rev A F SHERRILL, D.D., of the Church of the Redeemer of Atlanta, Rev M W ADAMS, Rev J H HINCKS and Rev C W FRANCIS of the Atlanta University; Rev S H ROBINSON first Congregational Church, Atlanta; Rev DARDEN, of the Baptist Church, Marietta; all of these took part in addresses. The song service was highly enjoyable. Rev Mr PINCKNEY starts out well and will do good service for his people.
