From the Cobb County Times dated Thursday, July 12 1917:

MARS HILL

Mr E P McCLAIN and family of Rome are spending a week with his father, Mr A P
McCLAIN.

Mr and Mrs J Paul McCLURE announce the arrival of a little girl at their home.

Mr T E JILES and family motored to Marietta, Saturday.

Mr and Mrs Oscar ORR and children spent one day last week with Mr F G WARDLAW of
Lost Mountain.

Miss Alice GRAY visited in Marietta last week.

Mr Tyson, who has been sick with typhoid fever for some time, is much improved.

Mr Glenn McLAIN spent Sunday in Cherokee County.

Miss Agnes McLAIN is spending several days with relatives at Bolton.

Miss Eunice PATTON of Acworth is spending several days with Mr Oscar ORR and
family.

Mr A P McLAIN is now riding in a new Oakland car, which he recently purchased.

Quite a number of our young folks picniced at McMickens' Mill, the fourth of July.
