The Marietta Journal December 15, 1904
NINETY YEARS OLD

Sunday, the 11th inst., Mrs Mary HARDAGE celebrated her 90th birthday at the
residence of her youngest child, Mrs WARE in Marietta, where she is now making
her home.

Children, grand-children and great-grand-children arrived with well-filled
baskets of good thing for the feast.

In her 16th year Mrs HARDAGE, then Miss Mary COOK, married in Hall county, Ga.,
Mr G W HARDAGE.

A few years later the young couple came to Cobb county, before the Indians left
and settled on Burnt Hickory road, near base of Kennesaw mountain, where they
lived together till May, 1889, when the husband passed over the river.

The couple lived together 56 years and fourteen children were born to them, ten
of whom are now living.  Six were present Sunday - Thomas, Jesse, William, Lou,
Lucinda and Mrs WARE.

The grand-children present were Mrs Henry RIDGEWAY, Mrs F R KIRK, Miss Gertrude,
Roy and Harry WARE, and Lillian HARDAGE.  Great-grand-children present were Mrs
Gober RUNYAN, Miss Mattie JAMES, Pearl and Ruby RIDGWAY and Adrian KIRK. 
Great-great-grand children, Louise and Augusta RUNYAN.  Other relatives and
friends present were Joe J HARDAGE, William THOMPSON, Henry RIDGWAY, Gober and
George RUNYAN, Mrs Kate WARD, Miss GARRISON and Mrs CATO and child.

Mother HARDAGE is spry and active for her age; she worked in the garden this
summer; takes pleasure in reading and an interest in home affairs.
