HIGHLANDS

Mr and Mrs James HOPE announce the birth of a son on December 21st.

Mr and Mrs J W EDWARDS' guests for dinner on Sunday, December 29, were Mr Oscar
ORR and family and Mr and Mrs John DARBY and two children.

Mr GAINES, of Talapoosa, has bought the old Easterlin place from Mrs Ada RALLS
and will move his family here.

Mrs RALLS will make her home with her son in Atlanta.

Mr and Mrs C C HUDSON of Atlanta visited Mr W P HARDAGE and family Christmas day.

Mr C C JAMES and family spent the holidays in Cedartown visiting Mrs JAMES'
sister; also Mr and Mrs Robert GUFFIN.  Their son, Herman, got his foot badly
mashed while there.

Mr Jud GREEN visited home folks during the holidays.

Mr and Mrs Fleet R KIRK attended the funeral of Mr Harvey TAYLOR at Macland on
December 27.

Miss Lucy JACKSON of Atlanta attended the funeral of her little cousin, Allie
May BEARDEN, and is spending a few days with the family of Mr J B BEARDEN.

Mr Calvin ADAIR died of pneumonia on January 1st.  He leaves a wife and three
children.  The funeral was held at New Salem Thursday.  We sympathize with the
bereaved ones.

Mr W P HARDAGE and sister, Miss L E HARDAGE, received the sad news of the death
of their sister-in-law, Mrs Jesse N HARDAGE, of Rockmart, on Friday.

Mrs James HOPE, Miss Ora BEARDEN, and little Burton KIRK, who have been very
sick, are all better.

Mrs J W EDWARDS and three little girls are on the sick list.
