The Marietta Journal September 22, 1898
NICKAJACK

Mr Jack MORRIS has taken down his commodious barn and erected it on a more
eligible site, besides making valuable improvements in its construction.

On the evening of the 16 inst., Mrs P M RICE gave an elegant birthday
entertainment to her sister, Miss Viola RUFF, and her cousin, Miss Hattie RUFF,
both these young natal days coming about the same date.

Mr RICE is vigorously pushing repairs on his mill dam, thinks he will get up
this week.  We learn that the factory will shut down in a few days in order to
take down a portion of the dam to get rid of surplus sand.
