The Cherokee Advance 13 Feb 1885 P 2 February 13, 1885
Lacy,a lad 17 years old, was bitten by a mad dog, near Marietta, a day or so
ago.  The dog had been eating the flesh of a cow that had died from the effects
of being bitten by a mad dog.  A madstone belonging to E. Denmead was applied to
the bites.
