Marietta Journal/Issue of December 15, 1871
Supposing that it may interest sorrowing relatives, I take the liberty to 
suggest through your columns, (if you see fit), that there are nine 
Confederate Soldiers' graves (which seem to have escaped notice hitherto) in 
the woods, two miles west of Marietta.  The head board of each is inscribed 
with the name, company, and regiment as follows:
W. E. Dismuke - Co. G., 45th Alabama Regiment
R. P. Dement - Co. B., 16th Alabama Regiment
S. Winslett - Co. D., 45th Alabama Regiment
Henry Avery - Co. F., 16th Alabama Regiment
R. Miller - Co. G., 33rd Alabama Regiment
Lt. G. W. Clark - Co. F., 45th Mississippi Regiment
William Phillips - Co. B., 32nd Mississippi Regiment
W. F. May - Co. D., 45th Mississippi Regiment
F. Murphy - (blank)

The graves being in an unfrequented woods, it is thought have escaped the 
notice of the Memorial Society.
