He was returning home from Dallas, in his buggy, when his mule became frightened, ran down a hill near Mr. Ivy Rakestraw's mill, and throwing Mr. McGee out, fracturing his skull in two places. He was picked up unconscious and carried home. Drs. Cotton and Dunn were summoned, but nothing could be done, and he died on the 20th inst., still unconscious. Mr. McGee was alone when the accident occurred which deprived him of life. He was 70 years old, a well to do farmer and a good Christian. The mule is 20 years old or more and was never known to get frightened before. no one knows what he got scared at, unless the old saying that "a mule will serve his master 20 years to get to kill him".
