The Marietta Journal February 7, 1907
OLIVE SPRINGS

Mrs Laura SPIERS died on last Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, aged about 47
years.  She had been in ill health for a long time with that incurable disease,
consumption, and her death was not unexpected.  She was a member of the Baptist
church at this place.  She leaves a husband, six children, mother, five brothers
and two sisters, to mourn her demise.  Her funeral was conducted on Saturday
morning at 11 o'clock by Rev W E McCOLLUM.  The interment was in Maloney
cemetery.  Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.

Mr and Mrs Richard CHALKER visited friends and relatives in Kennesaw on Saturday.

Miss Lena BROWN, after visiting relatives and friends in Atlanta, has returned
home.

Mrs Ralph MANNING of South Georgia is the charming guest of her mother, Mrs Mart
WARREN.

Mr BUCKNER of Atlanta was the guest of Miss Ruby ALEXANDER on Sunday.

Mr Wesley BROWN has returned home from Milledgeville, to the delight of his many
friends.

Little Douglas ATTAWAY is very ill with pneumonia fever.

Several young people from this place attended the singing at Mr Sod HICKS', near
Marietta, Sunday night.

Mrs Jessie MARTIN is very low at this time.

Mr and Mrs Taylor SANDERS of Austell visited his parents, Mr and Mrs W L
SANDERS, Saturday and Sunday.

The party given to the little folks by Mr and Mrs JONES of this place last
Tuesday night was enjoyed by all present.

Mr Will TEMPLETON has been on the sick list for several days.  His friends hope
to see him out again soon.
