She was a faithful wife and mother, always cheerful contented and dutiful in all walks of life, first to God and his cause, then to family friends, and neighbors, and ever ready to aid in spreading the gospel. She was a faithful member of Olive Springs Baptist Church and was a noble christian woman. The Church as well as the community in which she lived for the past twenty-two years sustains a great loss a vacancy that will be hard to fill. Her home life was devoted to every interest of the family circle was a benediction to her love ones. She was meant for the better world and the Master is calling us in this dispensation of his providence to come awhile apart with him. She leaves besides her husband and children, her mother, Mrs I J REED, one sister, Mrs J E WHITE of this community, four brothers, Messrs J C, J L and I I REED of this place and B F REED of Smyrna. The funeral service was conducted by her pastor Rev Geo V CROW at Olive Springs church on Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, and the pall-bearers were selected from her brothers and brother-in-law's who were Messrs J E WHITE, H D BARBER, J C, J L, I I and B F REED. The interment was held in Maloney Springs cemetery. The esteem that Mrs BARBER was held in was shown by the many beautiful floral offerings. One of the largest crowds that ever attended a funeral at this place was present to pay the last respect to one we all loved so well. But God does all things well and saw fit to take from among us one we loved, and while our hearts are bleeding in sorrow we try to be submissive to God's will, and some day will see and know and understand. May God bless the broken hearts and give Grace to bear up in this sad hour, and finally save us in Heaven where we can spend an endless eternity together with this and all loved ones gone before. We tender our deepest sympathy to the bereaved. Mr Ralph N TEMPLETON, Road, Va while on a ten day's visit to his parents, Mr and Mrs W M TEMPLETON Ashburn came by Olive Springs on Tuesday to see the families of Messrs G E CROW, A A DANIELL and Col Jessie L MOORE, returning to Virginia on Wednesday. Mr T F KNOX, wife and four children, Mrs W H KNOX, Mr J M MARTIN and Mr Lonnie REED all have the flu. But all are doing as well as could be expected. Mr L F BREWER's wife and four daughters of Smyrna spent the past week with the families of Messrs J W WHITE and G E CROW. The immortal spirit of Mr B BROWN passed to the beautiful land of light and love here on Saturday night Jan. 4th. He had been in bad health for some time but suffered very much the last few days from influenza before death claimed his spirit. He professed hope in Christ when very young and united with Olive Springs church and was baptized by Rev Thos R MORGAN. He was born and raised in this community and lived a good christian life. To know Mr BROWN was to admire him. Funeral services will be held from Maloney Springs church on Monday by Rev Thos R MORGAN, and interment will be in the cemetery at that place. He is survived by his mother, Mrs Mattie BROWN, one brother and one sister, Mr T A BROWN and Miss Lena BROWN both of this place. We deeply sympathize with the bereaved ones in this sad hour. The family of Mr WOODY have the flue. The many friends of Mrs J C REED will be sorry to learn of her illness. But hope she will soon be out again. - Clyde File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/olivespr422nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 4.2 Kb
