Marietta, Ga., June 7--(Special)--Last evening in the Armory hall on Atlanta street was given the oratorical contest of the Spruell School for Boys. The program follows: "Spartans to the Gladiators at Capua"--Ralph Eugene Stringer. "When Pa Was a Boy"--Joseph M. Brown, Jr. "The New South"--Emmett Pat Green, Jr. Music--Marietta Orchestra. "A Vision of the Republic"--David Wm McEachern. "Southern Love for the Negro"--William Jordan Balck, Jr. "Spartans to the Roman Envoys"-- Jack Walker Jones. Music Marietta Orchestra. "The South"--Harry Wellington Williams "The Deathbed of Benedict Arnold"--James Pal Bradley. "B H Hill in Atlanta" --Walter Branham Dillard, Jr. The Confederate Dead"--Rob and Bates Holland, Jr. Decision of the judges. Benediction--Rev. A R Bond, pastor First Baptis church.
