Death came to Mrs SELMAN suddenly by heart failure and was a great shock to the family and the community. Her womanly graces and Christian virtues had endeared her to a large circle of friends to whom her death will be a personal loss. She was an active worker in church and Sunday school and will be missed by the children and young people as well as by those of maturer years. Mrs SELMAN was Miss Catherine RILEY and was married in early girlhood. She was in her 59th year and is survived by six children, all of whom were present at the funeral as follows: Mrs J L BEESON of Milledgeville; Mrs L S SELMAN of Birmingham; Dr W A SELMAN of Atlanta and Miss Neva SELMAN of Powder Springs (sic). She is survived also by four sisters, namely: Mrs Fannie ELLISON of Paris, Texas; Mrs A R BOMAR and Mrs W K BURNETT of Chapel Hill, Ga; and Mrs J M MASON of College Park, Ga,; all of whom were present except Mrs ELLISON. The service was conducted by Rev J M SPINKS, her pastor, and was as beautiful and comforting as such a service can be. The floral tributes were exquisite in beauty and covered both mounds. Miss Corine BENNETT, who is attending school in Atlanta, spent Thanksgiving with home folks. Mrs Warren FLORENCE and Miss Lucile FLORENCE were called recently to the bedside of Mrs FLORENCE's daughter, Eloise, who has been visiting in Augusta. It is reported she is some better at this time. Mr and Mrs Ben GIBSON of Atlanta and Mrs CONNER and children of Marietta were guests of Mrs Margaret LINDLEY on Thanksgiving day. We are sorry to know that conference has caused our much beloved pastor, Rev E D HALE, and his good wife to be taken from our church and sent to Blue Ridge. Bro HALE has done more to build up our church in every way than any one for several years, and it is with much regret that we give him up. We welcome our new pastor, Rev J R KING, to our town and wish him every success. - No Additional Comments: Although the obit of Mrs Catherine RILEY SELMAN states that she was survived by six children, only four were named in the article.
