Mr DORSEY had lived here most all his life and was loved by every body. He was always kind and tender and a true Christian character. He was eighty years old and had been a member of the Methodist church for years. His funeral was conducted by his pastor, Rev F E JENKINS at the cemetery. A large crowd of his friends were present to pay the last tribute of love to him. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs Charley SCOTT of this place, Mrs Lou SMITH of Hiram, and Mrs Fred MORRIS of Cuthbert, and two sons, Mr Bob DORSEY of Atlanta, and Mr Matt DORSEY of Birmingham, and several grandchildren. Monday morning as Mr and Mrs S WEDDINGTON were driving in town from their home near Macland, Mr WEDDINGTON complained of feeling badly and his wife took the lines to drive when he fell over dead. She called for help and ladies in front of whose house it occurred came to her aid. A doctor was called but it was of no avail. He was carried to the home of Mr and Mrs J T BOOKOUT where his body was prepared for burial which was later carried to his home. Mrs WEDDINGTON has the sympathy of all in her sudden affliction. Miss Estelle LEAKE spent Sunday in Austell with Miss Jewel BARNES. Miss Hettie LEWIS was the guest of her sister, Miss Emma LEWIS, in Atlanta last week. A large crowd of our people attended the fair in Atlanta last week. Mr and Mrs W L FLORENCE, who entered several of their fine Herefords and Holstein cows and calves at the Southeastern fair were awarded quite a few prizes on them and will enter them at the Columbus fair when it convenes. Mr FLORENCE has a fine herd of cattle, to which he devotes most of his time. - Polly File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/powdersp287nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
