His going away deserves more than ordinary mention. He was a man of deep piety, a great student, an humble child of God. Had it not been for his affliction, he might have filled the very best pulpits of the land, yet he never murmured nor complained, but did with his might what his hands found to do. Mr DYER was pastor here a few years ago and was greatly loved. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and children. Mr Leo MILLER of Atlanta spent Sunday with homefolks. Rev F E JENKINS was ill Sunday and Prof H E HUNT delivered a splendid address at the Methodist church. Rev T C BURRELL and family will leave this week for their new home at Lithonia. Rev BURRELL and his family have made many friends here, who regret to see them leave. Miss Josie VAUGHAN and Mr Roscoe DICKEY were married last Tuesday evening at the home of the bride. Rev T C BURRELL performed the ceremony. They left for a trip to Florida. Miss Josie is the youngest daughter of Dr and Mrs J S VAUGHAN. She is one of Powder Springs best and sweetest girls, and Mr DICKEY is to be congratulated on winning such a charming bride. Mr DICKEY is a splendid young business man. Mr W R TAPP spent Saturday in Atlanta. Mr Hubert LINDLEY of Camp Gordon spent the week-end with homefolks. The Woman's Missionary Society of the Baptist church held an interesting meeting at the home of Mrs T C BURRELL last Monday. Mrs John A LEWIS and Mrs K W SPRATLIN are improving slowly after a severe case of the "flu." Miss Zula Mae WOLFE delightfully entertained the younger set at her home the past week. Mr Mark CHANDLER of Fort McPherson visited his sister, Mrs E C WOLFE, Sunday. Mrs J D MIDDLEBROOKS has returned from a visit to Texas, and has gone to Carlton to visit her daughter, Mrs J M CONNER, during the absence of DR MIDDLEBROOKS in New Orleans. Rev SWANSON of Locust Grove will preach at the Baptist church next Sunday. A most cordial invitation is extended to all.
