Other small articles are missing. The thieves entered the store by boring through a window and removing the sash. They got no money. Saturday about noon, a mad dog appeared on the premises of Mr R W ADAMS near here and before anything could be done it had attacked three dogs belonging to negroes on the pace and ran off towards town. Mr ADAMS shot at the dog but without effect. He mounted his horse and followed in pursuit. The dog passed through town at full speed biting one dog as he went through. Mr ADAMS overtook the dog a short distance from town and shot him at a branch where he had stopped to drink water. Mr Charley LACKEY, who recently returned from Waco, Texas, and Miss Nora ROLLINS, a daughter of Mr A L ROLLINS, near Lost Mountain, were married Thursday afternoon by Rev Mr WINTER at the home of the bride's parents. The bride and groom returned here immediately after the ceremony and were given an elegant reception at the home of Mr and Mrs J F P LINDLEY, where a supper of the choicest viands was spread in abundance for the merry crowd of friends and relatives who had assembled to offer their congratulations to the happy couple. They will begin house-keeping in a few days at the LACKEY residence here. Prof Walter McELREATH's school has opened with sixty-seven scholars, a beginning very encouraging to him and the patrons. He has employed Miss Grace HARDAGE of this place as assistant and has his school well organized and moving along with the regularity of clock-work. The future outlook for the school is exceedingly encouraging, better than for several years. Several good citizens have recently moved into the community to avail themselves of the advantages of the school. They are Mr C W BAGGETT of Paulding county, Mr James MITCHEL of Douglas county, and Mr WOLF from near McDonough. They are very clever, reliable, active men, whom any community would be proud of. Mr GRIFFIN from Norcross, having bought out Mr T J DAVENPORT's farm, is also a good patron of the school and honorable citizen. Mr T N BUTNER left last week for a months visit to Ocoee, Florida. Master Earnest SMITH has gone to live with his grand-mother, Mrs KENNEDY, near Cohutta, Whitfield county. Mrs H A SPIER returned last week from Rockmart, where she has been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs ARRINGTON, for two weeks. Mr and Mrs Wm RAKESTRAW visited her brother, Mr George RAKESTRAW of Gainesville, last week. -Scire Facias File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/powdersp368nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 3.2 Kb
