Marietta Journal April 16, 1908
From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, April 16 1908:

SARDIS 

Mr and Mrs Samuel B WEBB gave the young folks a singing last Sunday night which
was enjoyed by all.

Mr and Mrs Louis CASH visited Mr and Mrs J W BLACK Sunday.

Rev Wm E McCOLLUM preached an excellent sermon here last Sunday.  Rev Jno J CROW
preached on Saturday.

Miss Della BARFIELD is visiting Mr and Mrs Dock OSBORNE in Marietta this week.

Miss Lona CONN visited Bold Springs last Sunday afternoon.

Misses Josie and Disy BRADBURY of Marietta visited their sister, Mrs Jerry
BLACK, Saturday night and Sunday.

The singing at this place last Sunday evening was enjoyed by all.  There was a
large crowd present.  Bros GANTT and DOBBS were present also.  Every first and
third Sunday evenings is the time for the singing.  We urge every one to come
and be with us.

The members of this and other churches have contributed together and are going
to put up a monument to the grave of Rev Henry CAMPBELL.  Rev CAMPBELL was the
first pastor of Sardis Church and baptized a large number of people.  He was
buried here.

Mr and Mrs Edgar WEBB visited her parents, Mr and Mrs Jno W MORGAN Sunday.

Miss Agnes GOBER of Marietta visited Miss Emma GANTT last Sunday.
