Marietta Journal & Courier March 25, 1910
From the Marietta Journal & Courier dated Friday, March 25 1910:

SHADY GROVE

Mrs Florence REECE died last Thursday night, and was buried in Mars Hill
cemetery Saturday morning.  She leaves a husband and two children.  Our hearts
go out in sympathy for the bereaved ones.

Mr B F PROCTOR and family spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Harvey HOWARD of Elizabeth.

Born to Mr and Mrs Wiley McAFEE, a fine boy on the 13th inst.

Mr Will PRICE and family of near Kirk's Chapel visited Mr and Mrs McINTYRE of
this place Saturday night and Sunday.

Our hearts were made sad by the death of Mr J B HURT of Hiram, who died last
Friday morning, and was interred at Poplar Springs cemetery Saturday morning at
11 am.  He was the son-in-law of Mr J R GUFFIN of this place.

Mr C O BROOKS, wife and baby spent Sunday in Marietta with her parents, Mr and
Mrs John BENSON.

Mr George TRULOVE's house at this place was destroyed by fire last Friday
morning.  It was occupied at the time by his tenant, Mr EDWARDS.

Mrs Ellen IRISH and sister of Marietta spent Sunday with the family of Mr Wiley
McAFEE.

Sorry to note that Mr Jerry LOWE has penumonia.

Mr Dave GATLIN died at his home near Oakhurst last Tuesday morning.  He was a
member of Shady Grove church, and was a good Christian, and was always here to
lead the singing.  We sympathize with his mother in her sad bereavement.
